Little Author

We finished reading Charlotte's Web today. Norah loved it, and there were a few tears at the end for both of us. In the back of the book was a section about E.B White and we had a long discussion about authors and how they work/what they do. Norah said she made "the next part" of Charlotte's Web during her quiet time.

Eggs

We dyed easter eggs today with Jommy and Pops. The girls loved it!

Power Outage

The power was out for a couple of hours on Saturday. We made the most of the brightest room in the house by doing arts and crafts, playing a board game, and finishing three puzzles.

My Little Ponies

Norah had Show and Tell today and decided that she wanted to bring her Queen Celestia and Rainbow Dash ponies. There was a rush to get ready for school this morning, Norah was finishing her breakfast, and Mike was the only adult in the house who knew which ponies were the right ones so he went upstairs to grab them, accessories and all. Such a good Daddy!

Eggs

Our easter eggs have finally made an appearance this year. This bowl is well arranged, but one hour later they were hidden and scattered around the house!

Friends

Pony Pictures

The girls' school does Pony Pictures every year, and these came home today in their folders. Pretty cute!

Hallway nap

Norah rarely naps during her quiet time, but today she was "resting and waiting for you to come and get me, when I just fell asleep!"

Music Class

 Norah took a music class where they learned three songs and performances to go with them. They sang Under the Sea, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, and Be Our Guest. She was nervous before, but did a great job (especially being the youngest in the class)!

Car Wash

 We went through the car wash last week and it was a roller coaster of emotions!

St Patricks Day

The girls left a leprechaun trap last night, and guess what?! A leprechaun came to our house, left a note, didn't take the gold coin that Norah wanted to give him (he had enough gold already), and treated the girls to a few green jelly beans.

We have noticed a lot of birds bathing in our (very wet) backyard these days. Spring seems to be knocking on the door!

Birthday Card, 2nd edition

Along with her birthday present from Uncle Conner and Aunt Catherine, Norah received a beautiful mandala card which Catherine made. The first one arrived on time, promptly had water spilled on it, and Norah cried for a long time. The new edition arrived from California after a quick e-mail and it's sitting in our windowsill safely catching the afternoon light.

Painting

One of the girls' favorite activities these days is painting, especially with water color. Being allowed to have water in the playroom may be the best part!

Morning Hair

Bear Ride

Friends came over for lunch, and Ellie got a ride from Norah and Brook on Big Bear. And yes, Norah and Ellie both changed into their nightgowns upon walking in the door, even with guests over!

5 year check up

Norah had her five year check up today. She's a healthy 42 inches and 41 pounds, has perfect vision and hearing, and was very talkative with the doctor. This was the first time she wore the gown for her appointment and had a little trouble when the back kept falling open. The best part was no shots!

Balloon Hat

We went to a friend's first birthday party tonight, and there was someone there making balloon creations who was amazing. Ellie got this hat and a matching wand. She also enjoyed the snacks.

Final Celebration

 Norah had her final birthday celebration, and it included Chuck E Cheese. Her face upon arrival says it all!

And when she saw her huge cupcake cake (wearing her necklace she earned with her tickets from Chuck E Cheese).
