Post-haircut

Back to school bob completed. And a trim and blow-dry for Ellie!

Back to School haircuts

I took the girls to my stylist Jen to get their hair cut today. I kept telling Norah she was getting a "back to school bob" and so when she walked in she said "I'm here for my back to bob school haircut!"

Date Night

Mike took Norah on a date tonight. They went to Hobby Lobby, Target, and out to eat. She came home with a huge pony and matching doll and was beyond thrilled.

Summer Nights

We had dinner at the pool and went to Bingo night (otherwise known as snack night) with the Thompsons. Then we stayed up late playing on the playground. Squeezing every last minute out of summer while we can!

Breakfast

Mmmm, toast and eggs.

Turtle

Norah adopted a new pet at the splash park today.

Sisters

Playing in the "kitty cage" they made in the kitchen.

Dress

Norah asked MeMe today to make her a dress with "noodle sleeves." It took us the longest time to figure out that she meant spaghetti straps!

P.S. The facial injury is from the bottom of the pool this weekend.

Norah drew a portrait of Ellie and we all got to compare the drawing to the real deal.

Art time

We went to Raleigh this weekend to visit our friends the Etheridges. This morning we had some art time before breakfast.

School Bus

We went to a program at the library this morning where rising Kindergarteners could get on a school bus. Norah was a little unsure, but had a good time with her friends Brooke and Marguerite from pre-school!

Tracksuit

Ellie dressed herself this morning before coming downstairs in this very appropriate summer tracksuit.

"When I get older, I can has a phone and put it in my POCK-ET!"

Mommy and Me

Norah: Mommy this is me and you! (As I wipe away my tears and hang it on our chalkboard wall so I can stare at it when she's away at Kindergarten in 19 days)

Madi

One of our favorite babysitters Madi is headed to college at Longwood, so she came by this morning to say goodbye. The girls made her things to put in her dorm room!

Dress Up

We used food coloring and water to dye coffee filters. Think Norah was excited?

Saturday Mornings

Umbrellas

MeMe wanted to buy the girls new shoes for school, so we went to Short Pump this afternoon to shop. Of course they convinced her to buy them umbrellas also.

Three

This little girl is giving me a run for my money these days. She's lucky she's so cute.

Early morning

There are only a few weeks left before school starts, so we made the most of being at home this morning and were outside playing by 7:45.

Roses

We went to the Smith's house last night for dinner and they let Norah pick a bouquet of roses. She was so thrilled!

Towel

We have two hooded towels (one is an owl and one is a flower) and I will be so sad when the girls no longer want to use them!

Beach Day Seven

These times with family are so special and totally necessary in our busy lives. Going to the beach is such a good place to relax and disconnect and do "nothing," which often creates the best "somethings" in life.

Although the girls love the pool, we were able to spend some good hours on the beach and in the sand.

We collected pretty seashells.

At Wings, Norah insisted on getting a "snorkel-er" set. I don't think she took the fins off the entire time she was in the pool.

Ellie drew a picture of Fafa (with ears and a bellybutton!).

Beach Day Two

We had a few rainy days this year but we made the best of it. We played games, did a puzzle (which frustratingly didn't have all the right pieces to finish it), went to see a movie, and had a shopping spree at Wings.

Beach Day One

 Every year we go to Wrightsville Beach with my Dad and Megan. I look forward to this week all year, and cherish the memories and time spent with everyone. On our first afternoon this year, there was a rainbow!
