Movie Theater

The girls went to see a movie for the first time in the theater this morning. It was a 1$ showing of Paddington Bear and they did great! Ellie was a little wiggly towards the end, but overall we had a great time.

In full disclosure, I haven't been great about keeping up with the blog lately! This picture is from the spring, and I just thought Norah's headband was a great accessory.

Shoes on the wrong feet and socks inside out are regular styles in our house.

Fathers Day Gift

Norah came into our room this AM to give her gift to Mike. She drew the hand to hold the "lego forrest, because I know you like to be outside Daddy." Needless to say, he loved it.

The girls decorated the cactus at Jommy and Pops' house.

Support System

Ellie has been a trooper during swim practices and even a really late night for the swim meet. She loves to jump in and swim, but also enjoys sitting on the side observing, watching, and cheering. She's also enjoying the benefits (bagels) of having a sister who is on the team.

June 17: First Swim Meet

Norah had her first swim meet! She did an entire 25 and even turned around and started swimming back (before the lifeguard jumped in and stopped her)! She cheered loudly for her neighbors and friends. Her determination and spirit amaze me every day and I could not be more proud of the person she is.

Drawing

I looked outside while cooking dinner and Norah had taken her notebook outside and was quietly watching something and drawing. As I walked out with my camera, I heard her say "thank you, squirrel," and looked to see a drawing of a squirrel in her book.

Norah helped wash the windows. She is becoming quite the helper around the house.

Heartbreak Song

To say this girl is obsessed with Kelly Clarkson's "Heartbreak Song" is a vast understatement. This was her face when I finally caved and downloaded it for her to listen to in the car tonight!

Pony Parade

During quiet time, Norah set up a pony parade, to which the whole family was invited that night. She had tea for everyone and introduced all of the ponies by name. We were all very impressed with the show!

I didn't always bring my "fancy" camera, but I was able to snap a few pictures just walking around the Soho area where we stayed one afternoon.

We had an incredible dinner at a restaurant called Malatesta, which had a handwritten menu and all homeade pasta. Perfect. 

Our hotel had a rooftop pool and bar with incredible views. 

New York City Part 1

Mike had a training in NYC this week so I tagged along. We rode the train up on the first day, and it was just fun to travel together. When we arrived, we checked into the hotel and then walked around Chelsea Market. After that, we took a sunset cruise in the Hudson. It was amazing, and a great way to start our trip. I had never seen the Statue of Libery before, and she was really pretty in this light!

Rainy Swim Practice

Under the raincoats are swim cover-ups and swim suits. It's been raining all week and only about 70 degrees outside, but Norah insisted on going to swim practice and swimming in the rain. Ellie even got in to swim (for a few minutes)!

Summer mornings

Most mornings since school has been out, the girls eat breakfast and then go to the playroom and do arts and crafts or play since we don't have to get ready for school. It's become one of my favorite times of day while I listen to them play and clean up the kitchen.
